The
Lincoln County Animal Shelter is a division of the Lincoln County
Sheriff's Office. The shelter's mission is to provide a safe haven for
abandoned, lost, and abused and neglected animals; to educate the public on animal
welfare issues; and to protect animal welfare and public safety by
enforcing Oregon's anti-cruelty and animal control laws.
To report roaming dogs, abuse or neglect, please call LinCom at 541-265-4231.
A Note about Dog Breeds
Shelter dog breed assignments are based what the dogs look like, their behavior, and/or because owners relinquishing their dogs have identified the dogs as a specific breed. We take behavior into account in our classifications because most times people are looking for dogs with certain behavior traits. If you want a positive breed identification, the only way is to perform a DNA test. And, if you do, we'd love to see the results!
