HOW DO I OBTAIN A DOG LICENSE?

Please complete the dog license application form (on left) and mail or deliver it with the fee and rabies certificate to the shelter address at the top of this page.

(Licensing fees are listed on the application.)

The Lincoln County Animal Shelter and the Animal Services and Protection Division provides care and protection for the many homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused or neglected dogs and cats.

Our Mission

To serve and protect the people and animals of Lincoln County in a professional and courteous manner by:

  • Educating the residents of Lincoln County
  • Promoting humane treatment of animals
  • Enforcing animal laws
  • Providing shelter and care for lost and homeless dogs and cats respecting the needs of our customers

SHELTER HOURS
10:00 am - 3:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday
10:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday
10:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday
– Adoptions stop 1/2 hour before closing –

THINK BEFORE YOU ADD A PET TO YOUR FAMILY.
A pet isn't for every family. There are many responsibilities involved in owning a pet. Pets need:
Medical care - health check-ups, inoculations, spaying or neutering
Food, clean and fresh water daily
Clean and dry housing
Obedience training
Identification (county license; name tag - never allow your pet out without some form of identification)
Toys and LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION!

ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE:
A free veterinarian check-up with any of the Lincoln County Veterinarians
A vaccination - distemper for cats / distemper-parvo for dogs
Dogs only - a free puppy tag (good until 6 months of age) or a free dog license for the first year (rabies vaccination and altering certificate needed)
