On July 14th, 2012 at approximately 5:00 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies Derek Etheridge and Rene Lopez were dispatched to a reported assault in the area of Collins St in Depoe Bay. A subject reported being assaulted by a male acquaintance at the location. After an investigation, 39 year-old Newport resident John L McCoy Jr was taken into custody for Assault in the Fourth Degree. McCoy was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on $15000 bail.
