Summary:
On May 6, 2012 at about 6:54 PM, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to a non-injury single vehicle traffic crash located on Highway 101 near NW Trout St in Yachats, OR.
Deputy Hawley contacted the driver of the vehicle, Debora K. Foreman, 56 years of age, from Yachats, Oregon. An investigation revealed that Foreman was driving south on Highway 101 when she crossed the fog line and went off the road causing her vehicle to loose control. When Foreman's vehicle left Highway 101 it travelled through a citizen's yard damaging a fence and two vehicles on the property. It was also revealed that Foreman crashed into two mail boxes and a state park sign on Highway 101 prior to driving into the citizens yard. The damage caused by Foreman's vehicle was estimated at $2,000 to $3,000 (dollars).
While talking to Foreman, Deputy Hawley noticed signs of impairment and conducted a DUII investigation. Foreman failed sobriety tests and was arrested for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief II. Foreman was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and her vehicle was impounded at the scene. After arriving at the jail Foreman provided a breath sample that registered a blood alcohol concentration of .16% and was subsequently lodged on $45,000 bail.
