Summary:

On March 20, 2012 at 11:59 AM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Barry Bruster and a Oregon State Police Trooper responded to an in-progress domestic assault at a residence on Read Drive in Waldport, OR.

An investigation revealed that 18 year old Richard Glenn Murry of Waldport, had assaulted his 16 year old girlfriend, who is also pregnant. Murry was located, taken into custody without incident, and placed in the backseat of the patrol car. While still on scene, Deputy Bruster allowed family members to talk with Murry through a partially open window on the police car, to help him calm down. During this time, Murry's 21 year old sister, Alyssa Murry of Waldport, opened the patrol car door, allowing her brother to get out of the patrol car. Both subjects were quickly detained by Deputy Bruster. Richard Murry was placed back in the patrol car and Alyssa Murry was arrested for interfering with a police officer.

Family members transported the victim to Samaritian Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, for observation. Both Murry's were transported to the Lincoln County Jail where Richard Murry was lodged on a charge of Assault IV Domestic with a bail of $15,000. Due to overcrowding, Alyssa Murry was cited and released at that jail for Interfereing with a Police Officer.
