Lincoln County Sheriff's Office |
Your Sheriff’s Office strives to continuously meet the needs of our community. In order to help better serve our customers, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Records and Civil Division now has the capability to accept a credit card or debit cards that have a credit card logo as payment for all fee based services under their care. Citizens may now use these forms of payment to pay for service of civil papers, report copies, fingerprints, concealed handgun licenses and impounded vehicles to name a few.
In addition, paper checks will be automatically converted to electronic payments which are processed quickly and easily. These funds are settled with the same speed and ease as a credit card, typically within 24 to 48 hours. Processing a check electronically provides faster access to funds, reduces costs, minimizes the risk of returned checks and improves reporting.
“We are pleased that your Sheriff’s Office continues to find new ways to improve service to our citizens. “Credit card acceptance has been desired for some time as fewer people carry cash or checks” stated Sheriff Dotson. “Your Records and Civil Division is pleased to join your Jail and Animal Shelter who implemented credit card services in 2011.”
