On 12-8-2011 at about 1250 hours Deputy Gary Davey with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was patrolling Weyerhaeuser's property SW of Harlan when he located subjects harvesting Chanterelle mushrooms without permits. Deputy Davey issued citations to 23 year-old Simon Rivera-Abelar, 29 year-old Luis A. Hernandez-Perete, 45 year-old Pablo Vargas-Perete and 22 year-old Antonio Gutierrez-Lopez all of Salem for the Unlawful Cutting/Transporting of A Minor Timber Product Without A Permit. The offense is a Class B Misdemeanor with a bail set at $10,000.00. The seized seven 5 gallon buckets of mushrooms will be sold with the proceeds going to Weyerhaeuser.
