Summary:

On September 1, 2011 Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Lance Cummings was dispatched to a reckless driving complaint on U.S. Hwy 101 near mile post 162 north of Yachats, Oregon, involving a possible DUII driver in a silver colored Mercedes sedan. Sr. Deputy Cummings located the vehicle at a residence on NW Howard Drive in Seal Rock, Oregon, following a call from a homeowner reporting an unknown woman driving this same vehicle had just pulled into their driveway.

Sr. Deputy Cummings contacted and identified the driver as 64 year old Ilene Marie Somes of Siletz, Oregon and observed signs of impairment. Upon completing a DUII Investigation Sr. Deputy Cummings arrested Ms. Somes for Driving While Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Ms. Somes also had a warrant for her arrest out of Polk County, Oregon for Failure to Appear on a previous DUII.

Ms. Somes was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on charges of DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Providing False Information to a Police Officer, Failure to Carry / Present a Driver's License, Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor) and for the FTA warrant from Polk County. Her bail was set at $100,000.

Ms. Somes' Mercedes was seized under the Lincoln County DUII Forfeiture law.
