Summary:
On July 28, 2011, at 6:30 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy David Boys was dispatched to a theft at the Overleaf Lodge, Yachats, OR. The deputy responded to the hotel and contacted the female complainant who reported that while staying at the establishment she discovered her purse was missing an undisclosed sum of money. Hotel staff were alerted to the situation and cooperated with the investigation.
On July 30, 2011, Deputy Boys contacted 22 year old Clifford James Morris of Yachats, Oregon in connection with the theft. Investigation revealed Morris was an employee at the location at the time of the theft.
Following an interview with Morris, he was subsequently taken into custody for Burglary I and Theft II. Morris was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail. His bail was set at $165,000.00.
