In April 2011, a residential burglary occurred in the Toledo area of Lincoln County where a safe and its contents were stolen. A deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office investigated the case and with help from the victim, suspects were developed. During the investigation it was learned that Willam Fay Stokes, 44 years old, of Siletz, knowingly acquired valuable coins that he knew had been stolen in the Toledo burglary. Stokes pawned the coins out of state for a large sum of money. Stokes was arrested for Theft I by Receiving and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail with bail set at $50,000. The investigation is continuing.
