Incident: Theft and Burglary at Toledo High School
Date Occurred: Apr 25, 2011
Time Occurred: Approximately 3:00 pm
Location: Toledo High School

Summary:

On April 19th, 2011, at about 3:00 PM Toledo High School staff contacted a woman who was seen looking for items in vehicles in the THS parking lot and then sitting in the gym. The unidentified woman left and the incident was brought to the attention of the THS assistant principal the next day who reviewed surveillance video. The video revealed that the woman went into at least two vehicles and then entered the gym while the students were gone and searched through gym bags. The video footage provided a description of the woman and her vehicle.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was called to investigate the incident. Deputies worked with THS staff and the investigation determined that items were stolen from the vehicles and property was stolen from one THS student. Deputy Bruce McGuire located the suspect vehicle later on April 20th and the suspect, identified as Susan Dawn Sawaya, age 42 of Toledo, was contacted on April 21st by Deputy Gary Davey. Sawaya had no known purpose for being at the school or any children in attendance there.

Sawaya was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail where she was charged with Burglary II, two counts of Unlawful Entry Into a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Theft II resulting in a total bail amount of $110,000.00.
