On February 3, 2011 Deputy Gary Davey with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was patrolling Plum Creek's property in the area of Baber Ridge, which is Southeast of Eddyville. While patrolling the area Deputy Davey found 53 year-old Roy Siegfried of Fall City, Oregon harvesting black Oregon truffles on private timber property without a permit. Siegfried was cited and released for Cutting/Transporting of a minor timber product without a permit, which is a class B misdemeanor.
