In the early morning hours of January 2, 2011, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Derek Etheridge responded to a Reckless Driving complaint in the area of Collins St and Hwy 101 in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Etheridge observed the vehicle was stuck on a concrete barrier and missing its right rear tire. Deputies contacted the driver, 22 year-old Newport resident Kyle W. Erickson, and observed signs of impairment. After an investigation, Erickson was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Erickson was lodged on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering. His bail was set at $45,000. The Oregon State Police and Lincoln City Police Department assisted in the investigation.
