Summary:

On December 26, 2010 at about 3:15pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of an unwanted subject report at a residence in the 700 Block of N Deerlane Drive, Otis, Oregon. The caller reported the female appeared intoxicated and was screaming obscenities while attempting to open the door of her residence. The caller reported the female had also urinated on the porch of the residence.

Upon arrival, Deputy Karl Vertner contacted 19 year old Shelbi R. Smith of Otis. Smith was acting irrational and showed signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Smith told Deputy Vertner she had been in an altercation with a roommate at the location and was trying to get back into the home. Deputy Vertner learned the altercation Smith had been in with a roommate occurred at a separate location and Smith did not know the residents of this home.

Smith was arrested for Disorderly Conduct II and Criminal Trespass II. While in the custody, Smith became violent and started spitting on Deputy Vertner and another deputy assisting with the investigation, and attempted to kick out the windows in the patrol car. Smith was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Criminal Trespass II, Disorderly Conduct II, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief II, and 3 counts of Harassment. Smith’s bail was set at $62,500.
