On October 6, 2010 at about 2:30pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Hughes, assisted by a Toledo Police Officer, attempted to contact 26 year old Daniel Thomas Hart at a worksite in the City of Toledo. Hart was the suspect in a theft investigation being conducted by the Sheriff's Office, and had an outstanding warrant from the State of Oregon for an earlier Fugitive complaint. Hart fled the scene on foot as the deputy and the officer approached, but was found hiding in some brush nearby and detained. Hart had some of the reported stolen property in his possession when he was detained. He was also in possession of Marijuana, some prescription pills, and a small bag of Methamphetamine. Hart was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail for the Oregon State Governor's warrant. He received additional charges of Theft II and Possession of Controlled Substances. His bail was set at $115,000.
