Summary:
On August 31, 2010 Lincoln County Sheriff's Sr. Deputy Abby Dorsey observed a black Honda sedan at the intersection of Highway 34 and Bay Street in Waldport, Oregon and recognized the passenger in the vehicle as Jason C. Chewning, 40 of Waldport. Deputy Dorsey knew Chewning had a Felony warrant for his arrest out of Lane County for Fail to Appear, original charge Possession of Methamphetamine. Deputy Dorsey initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and Chewning was taken into custody without incident.
While conducting a search of Chewning's person, Deputy Dorsey located a glass pipe containing burnt residue consistent with methamphetamine. Other items consistent with drug paraphernalia were observed in the vehicle. A subsequesnt search of the vehicle was conducted, during which items including but not limited to, digital scales, and methamphetamine were located. Both Jason Chewning, and the driver of the vehicle, Gregory C. Reilly, 35, of Portland were taking into custody for Delivery of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Schedule III conrolled substance. Chewning's bail was set at $550,000. Reilly was held without bail on a Probation Detainer.
