On 07/24/10 at 12:23am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Cliff Sites conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 Honda Accord for a lighting violation on Hwy 34 near milepost 7. The driver of the vehicle appeared to be extremely nervous and provided Deputy Sites with a false name and date of birth.
Deputy Sites detained the driver while trying to determine his identity. The driver was identified as Clifton Dale Selby, 28, of Tidewater. Selby had several warrants for his arrest for drug and weapons related offenses with a bail totaling over $500,000, as well a no bail warrant for a parole violation.
Methamphetamine and Marijuana were recovered during a search of the vehicle.
Selby was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession Of Methamphetamine; Providing False Information to Police; Fail to Carry and Present Driver License, as well as his warrants. He was also cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
