Summary:
On July 18, 2010 at about 8:15 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Sorby responded to a possible burglary in progress at 145 3rd St in Otter Rock. Oregon State Police along with other deputies responded to assist with the investigation.
Deputy Sorby learned that the home owner had seen a vehicle parked behind his vacation rental house. Deputy Sorby located two suspects just as they were exiting the residence. Both suspects were taken into custody with out incident. The suspects were identified as Mathew J Anderson, 20, of Salem and Katelyn M Murray, 19, of Salem.
Deputy Sorby learned that Anderson had kicked in a side door and made entry into the house. Deputy Sorby also learned that Anderson had attempted to gain entry into two other houses in the North Newport area. Anderson was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on Burglary I, Attempted Burglary I, Criminal Mischief II, and Theft of Services. Anderson’s bail was set at $310.000.00. Murray was cited and released on charges of Criminal Trespass I and Theft of Services.
