Summary:
On April 25, 2010, at 1:14 PM, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a reported Burglary in Toledo. An investigation revealed that someone had entered a residence in Toledo and took two rifles. The rifles were later located at a second-hand store in Newport. James Loren Anderson, 23 years old of Burnt Woods, was developed as a suspect in this case. The rifles were later returned to the victim and Anderson was charged with Burglary I and Theft II. Anderson was booked and lodged at the jail on a $165,000 bail.
On April 27, 2010, at 12:30 PM, Deputy David Boys was dispatched to a theft of two chainsaws in the area of Burnt Woods, Oregon. Deputy Boys made contact with the victim and learned two chainsaws were taken from a work shop on their property. During the investigation, authorities learned that Anderson was a suspect in this case along with several other incidents in Lincoln County. The stolen property was also sold at a second-hand store in Newport, which was recovered and returned to the victims.
Anderson was contacted at the Lincoln County Jail, where he was in custody on the above listed charges, and subsequently charged with Burglary II, Theft II, Theft by Deception and four counts of Theft I. Anderson was lodged at the jail with a bail of $315,000.
