Incident: Assault and Reckless Endangering
Date Occurred: April 9, 2010
Time Occurred: Approximately 11:00 am
Location: Yaquina Bay Road near Milepost 2

Summary:

On March 17, 2010 at about 3:30 PM, Deputy David Boys of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office received a report from a male subject that had been running on Yaquina Bay Road when a vehicle went by him at about 60 MPH and several passengers threw tightly packed water balloons at him. One of the water balloons struck the runner in the chest causing substantial pain and injury. The victim provided a detailed vehicle description.

Deputy Boys investigated the incident and subsequently received additional suspect information. On April 9, 2010, Deputy Boys contacted three adult male subjects and one juvenile and determined they were involved in the incident. He cited and released Jason E. Jones, 20 years old from Toledo; Terry J. Ayers, 18 years old from Toledo; and Thomas M. Uhrich, 18 years old from Toledo for Assault III and Reckless Endangering. The juvenile was similarly cited and released.
