On April 18, 2010 at about 5:30 AM, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to the 400 Block of N Highway 101 in Depoe Bay regarding a suicidal subject. An investigation revealed that Jerad P. Garcia, 32 years of age, from Depoe Bay menaced several people with a firearm and took off on foot from the location.
OSP troopers arrived on scene and assisted Deputy Hawley. Garcia was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Garcia was charged with, Unlawful us of a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct. Garcis was transported and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail where he was held on $90,000 bail.
