Summary:

On March 31, 2010 at approximately 9:00 pm, a deputy sheriff with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a theft at the Lincoln Beach Sentry Market in Lincoln Beach. It was reported by a store employee that two females ran out of the store while carrying two, handheld shopping baskets full of food, which they threw into a vehicle, then drove north on Hwy 101. A description of the suspect vehicle and its occupants was broadcast to police and while the deputy was contacting the store employee, officer's with the Lincoln City Police Department located the suspect vehicle in Lincoln City, stopped it, and detained the two female occupants. In plain view inside the suspect vehicle were two shopping baskets full of food, alcohol, and other items.

The deputy responded to Lincoln City and made contact with Yvonne Celeste Najac, age 32, and Amber Jayne Nafziger, age 28, both with addresses in California. Further investigation by the deputy revealed that Najac and Nafziger were the persons responsible for the theft and both were arrested for crime of Theft II. The deputy returned all the stolen merchandise to Lincoln Beach Sentry where it was determined the two suspects had originally stolen over $200.00 worth of food, alcohol and other items from the store. Najac and Nafziger were both lodged at Lincoln County Jail on $15,000.00 bail each.
