On January 18, 2010, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Derek Etheridge was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the area of Valley View Avenue in Gleneden Beach. A caller reported subjects at the location were involved in an argument and a physical confrontation ensued. An investigation revealed that Michael Paul Renner, age 44 of Gleneden Beach, punched a family member at the location at least twice following the argument. The assault was witnessed by the minor child of one of the involved parties at the location, enhancing the crime to a felony.
Renner was also found to have violated an active restraining order that prevented him from having contact with a subject at the residence. Renner had an outstanding warrant for his arrest as well. Renner was taken into custody for Assault IV Domestic Felony, Violating a No Contact Order, and the outstanding warrant. Renner was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged. His bail was set at $55,000.
