On November 14, 2009 at about 1:46 AM, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on NW 51st Street near NW Bell Ct in the Roads End area. Deputy Hawley contacted the driver later known as, Lee R. Smith, 26 years of age, from Beavercreek, Oregon. After viewing several signs of impairment, Deputy Hawley conducted a DUII investigation and placed Lee in custody.
Deputy Hawley arrested Lee for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor. Lee later submitted to a breath test which registered a .09% blood alcohol concentration.
