On August 10, 2009 at 12:00am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Cliff Sites initiated a traffic stop on a green Chevrolet truck for Failure to maintain lane. During contact with the driver, Eric Ben Nelson, 48, of Waldport, Deputy Sites noticed signs of impairment.
A DUII investigation revealed that Nelson had been driving while under the influence of intoxicants.
Nelson was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample 0.15 %. His bail was set at $15,000.
