On August 1, 2009 at 2:40am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Cliff Sites conducted a traffic stop on a Black Honda Civic at SW Alder and Sw 7th Street in Newport after observing the vehicle fail to signal properly before turning.
During contact with the driver, Anthony Michael Garza, 28, of Newport, Deputy Sites noticed signs of impairment. An investigation revealed Garza was Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
Garza was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he provided a breath sample of 0.22 % BAC.
