Summary:
On July 26, 2009 at about 10:23pm, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Sorby conducted a traffic stop on a red Jeep on Highway 20 near Milepost 21 in Eddyvillle, Oregon. Deputy Sorby observed the Jeep swerving in its lane and driving erratically. Deputy Sorby contacted the driver, 47 year old Julie A. Life, of Toledo, and observed signs of impairment. Life consented to field sobriety tests and failed them.
As Deputy Sorby attempted to take Life into custody, she started to resist arrest and a struggle ensued. Deputy Sorby struggled to detain Life until a Toledo Police Officer arrived on scene and assisted with taking her into custody.
A search of Life’s vehicle was conducted and several baggies containing a small amount of marijuana were found, along with an open can of beer. Life was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she consented to take a breath test. Life's blood alcohol concentration was measured at .16%. Life was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail and charged with DUII and Resisting Arrest. Her bail was set at $30,000.00. Additionally, Life received citations for Unlawful possession of Marijuana and Open container.
