On July 13, 2009 at about 10:22 pm, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Gulbranson attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Ford truck at the intersection of SE Range and Crestline Drive in Waldport, Oregon. The driver sped from the area and Deputy Gulbranson pursued the vehicle. After a short pursuit, Deputy Gulbranson was able to take Phillip Ross Olson, age 30 of Waldport into custody without further incident. Olson was transported and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Attempt to Elude (felony) and Reckless Driving. His bail was set at $65,000. He was also cited for several traffic violations.
