Summary:
Sheriff Dotson is pleased to announce that on June 1, 2009, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office hired Danny Labasan to fill a seasonal position patrolling Oregon State Parks in Lincoln County. The funding for this program is provided by the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department who contracts for law enforcement services with the Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Labasan, a long time law enforcement veteran of Lincoln County, brings nearly 31 years of experience to this position, all of which were served in Lincoln County. Deputy Labasan retired after dedicating 25 years of service to the Lincoln County community as an Oregon State Trooper. He has spent the last six years working as a seasonal trooper assigned to patrolling state parks, which was very similar to the duties he will perform as a seasonal deputy.
During his service with the Oregon State Police, Labasan was assigned as a field training officer to train new police recruits. He was also certified as a defensive tactics and riot instructor and was a member of the Oregon State Police Mobile Response Team.
"We are very excited about Danny joining our team." "It is especially meaningful to me as Danny and I worked together for 12 1/2 years until my retirement from the Oregon State Police in 2000," stated Sheriff Dennis Dotson. "Deputy Labasan will be a great assest to this office and the citizens and visitors of this county," added Dotson.
