On June 6, 2009 at 12:57am, Deputy Cliff Sites with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a 1997 Ford Escort for making an unsignaled turn onto SW Elizabeth Street in Newport.
The driver of the vehicle identified himself as John David and refused to provide a driver license. During questioning, the man gave his true name as John David Ivey, 27, of Newport and stated that he knew he had a warrant for his arrest.
Ivey was arrested for PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION TO POLICE as well as a no bail Parole Board Warrant and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail.
