On 5-21-2009 at about 3:30 PM Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Gary Davey issued 48 year old Kenneth Bice of Mapleton, Oregon a criminal citation for the Cutting / Transporting of A Minor Timber Product and Theft II after being found harvesting "Fiddlehead Ferns" on both private and public lands without a permit. Bice was found in possession of about 30 pounds of fiddlehead ferns with a market valued at about $475.00.
