Incident: Robbery, Assault and Kidnap

Location: NE Highway 20 - Toledo

Summary:

On May 16, 2009 at about 4:40 PM, Deputy Sorby with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s responded to a possible vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the parking lot of JC Market in Toledo. When Deputy Sorby arrived on scene he discovered a female had been dragged across the parking lot by a vehicle after a male attempted to steal her purse. The female victim was dragged about 100 feet through the parking lot where she tumbled into the middle of Business Highway 20. The female victim was transported to the Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene before Deputy Sorby arrived. Deputy Sorby later located the suspect and took Travis M Elias, 19, of Toledo into custody. Elias was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on Robbery I, Assault II, Kidnap II, Felony Hit and Run, and Recklessly Endangering. Elias’ bail was set at 815,000.00.
