On April 3rd, 2009 at 9:00 pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Cliff Sites initiated a traffic stop on a white Plymouth Voyager on Hwy 101, near Hwy 34 after the vehicle made an unsignaled right turn.
During contact with the driver, Louise G. Newell, 65, of Waldport, Deputy Sites noted signs of impairment. An investigation revealed Newell was Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. She was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she provided a breath sample of 0.14 % BAC %. Newell's bail was set at $15,000.
