On March 30, 2009 at approximatley 5:30 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Derek Etheridge was dispatched to a reported traffic crash at the intersection of North Bank and Panther Creek Roads in Otis, Oregon. When the Deputy arrived on scene, the vehicle had already left the location. The vehicle was located and an investigation revealed it had been taken without the consent of the owner. The driver, 32 year-old Patricia Moffitt of Otis, was later taken into custody for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. Her bail was set at $50,000.
