On March 17, 2009 at about 9:30 AM, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Barry Bruster received a report of dump trucks hauling demolition debris up Highway 229 for the last two days.
Deputy Bruster located a demolition site at 4939 SW Coast Avenue in Lincoln City. The site was littered with the remains of sheet rock, insulation, pipes, and lumber. It appeared that houses or structures had been demolished down to the foundation level. The majority of the structures was gone. Deputy Bruster learned that the debris was transported to private property on Hwy 229 and burned. The Lincoln City planning department and Department of Environmental Quality were notified and an onging investigation is taking place.
