Lincoln County Courthouse |
Summary:
On March 16, 2009 at approximately 4:40 pm, a Civil Deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office walked into the Squad Room of the Sheriff's Office, reporting she'd just been stabbed with a ballpoint pen on the third floor of the Courthouse. The Civil Deputy said she was attempting to serve a civil paper to Elizabeth B. Grimes just outside Courtroom 303, when Grimes, who was agitated and hostile, snatched a pen and paper out of her hand. When the Civil Deputy held her hand out to retrieve her pen and paper, Grimes wrapped the pen in the paper and stabbed the Civil Deputy in her palm with the point of the pen, which was still engaged.
Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the third floor of the Courthouse with the victim, who then pointed out Grimes sitting on a bench outside Courtroom 303. Elizabeth B. Grimes, 25, of Lincoln City, OR, was arrested without incident and escorted to the Lincoln County Jail where she was booked on a charge of Assault II, a Measure 11 crime. Grimes bail was set at $250,000.00.
