Summary:
On February 12, 2009, Sally Cutter with Cutter's Custom Cleaners reported to Deputy David Boys of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office the theft of a donation jar holding an undisclosed amount of money. Cutter advised the jar was on the counter to collect money for "Coats for the Cold" a local charity that distributes jackets to persons in need. Your Sheriff's Office would like to remind other local business to be aware of this type of theft which can be deterred with simple steps such as securing the tip/donation jars to counters with a top slot type design so money can not be easily taken back out.
The Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation and encourages anyone with information about this case to contact Deputy Boys at phone (541) 265-4277 ext. 2706.
