On February 13, 2009 at about 2:00am, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Sorby conducted a traffic stop on a black Chrysler Sebring near the intersection of Highway 101 and NW 19th Street in Lincoln City, Oregon. Deputy Sorby contacted the driver, Brandon R. Anglin, 18, of Salem, who provided him with false information about his identity. Deputy Sorby also learned the vehicle had been reported as stolen on February 10, 2009 out of Salem.

With the assistance of the Lincoln City Police Department, Deputy Sorby took Anglin into custody. One of the four remaining passengers, a 17 year old female juvenile from Salem, was also taken into custody. Deputy Sorby conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered nearly one and a half ounces of Methamphetamine under the passenger side front seat. The Methamphetamine was packaged for sale in several different plastic baggies.

Anglin was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, False Information to Police, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Anglin’s bail was set at $380,000.00.

The female juvenile was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Juvenile Detention Center. The remaining three passengers were released without charges.
