Summary:
On 112508 at approximately 9:20 pm, a deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a traffic crash on N Slick Rock Creek Rd, just south of the intersection with Salmon River Hwy (Hwy 18). The deputy arrived on scene to find the crashed vehicle lying on its side in a ditch, near the roadway. Both air bags had been deployed, but the driver was nowhere to be found. With witness information and information obtained from the vehicle registration, the deputy was able to locate the driver at his residence approximately two miles from the crash scene. Dale Ray Gorman, age 31, of Rose Lodge, OR, was contacted and immediately showed signs of impairment. With statements from the witness and Gorman, along with observations of the deputy, Gorman was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving. After arriving at the Lincoln County Jail, Gorman submitted to futher sobriety testing and furnished a breath sample of 0.16%, approximately three hours after the crash. Gorman was lodged on $30,000.00 bail.
