Summary:
On November 16, 2008 at approximately 6:30 PM Deputy Colin Teem with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was driving north on Hwy 101 past Starr Crk Rd. in Yachats, OR. Deputy Teem was following a vehicle north on Hwy 101 when the vehicle suddenly braked and swerved off the side of the road to prevent a head on collision with a vehicle that had crossed into the lane. Deputy Teem turned around and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle that had nearly caused the accident.
Deputy Teem contacted the driver Chester Dean Blakely, 54 years of age of Deadwood, OR and detected signs of impairment. Deputy Teem conducted a DUII investigation and Blakely was subsequently placed into custody for DUII. At the Lincoln County Jail Blakely provided a breath sample of .17% BAC.
Blakely was lodged at LCJ for DUII, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering. Blakely had a bail set at $45,000.00.
