Incident: Unlawful Delivery and Possession of Ecstasy and Resist Arrest
Date Occurred: November 7, 2008
Time Occurred: Approximately 10:22 pm
Location: SW Bay Blvd - Newport

Summary:

On November 7th, 2008, at about 10:28 PM, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Sorby arrested Nathan M. Dorough, 37, of Siletz in front of the Bay Haven Tavern in Newport. Deputy Sorby received information that Dorough had been attempting to sell Ecstasy to several people. Deputy Sorby observed Dorough in a verbal altercation in front of the Bay Haven Tavern and went to approach him. When Dorough saw Deputy Sorby he ran. Deputy Sorby chased Dorough into the Tavern. Deputy Sorby detained Dorough and discovered a pistol under the table where he Dorough was standing. A search of Dorough was conducted and Deputy Sorby located several small pills that appeared to be Ecstasy. Deputy Sorby seized the pistol and discovered it was a pellet gun. As Deputy Sorby was walking Dorough back to him patrol car, Dorough pulled away and tried to run. With the assistance of Officer Macy, from Newport Police Department, Deputy Sorby grabbed Dorough was able to place him in his patrol car. Dorough was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Delivery of MDMA (Ecstasy), Unlawful Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), Interfering with a Police Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapons, and Resisting Arrest. Dorough’s bail was set at $295,000.00.
