Sheriff's Office Community Meeting

On Thursday October 9, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office hosted its 10th community meeting since April 2006. The meeting was scheduled for 90 minutes, but exceeded that time due to the numerous questions and comments offered from members of the group. The meeting was held at the Gleneden Beach fire hall and was attended by 36 residents from the surrounding area.

The Sheriff’s Office community video and a comparison of two citizen surveys conducted in 2005 and 2007 were shared with the group. The survey results from October 2007 show an improvement in customer satisfaction with the Sheriff’s Office from two years earlier. The level of satisfaction in September 2007 was 81% with 12% not offering their opinion.

Sheriff Dotson told the group, “While we’re working everyday to deliver excellent customer service, we’re pursuing a 90% satisfaction level.”

All five of the Sheriff’s Office division commanders were on hand to comment on currently offered services and updates within their respective divisions.
