Summary:
On Saturday September 27, 2008 a team of inmate workers from the Lincoln County Jail participated in the Yaquina River Clean up sponsored by Thompson’s Sanitary. Corporal Paul Parashak and Deputy Kurtz took a crew of eight (8) inmates on the Yaquina Bay Road from milepost 7 thru milepost 12 and picked up over 50 bags of trash, numerous pieces of metal, wood and discarded tires, plus the discovery of an illegal dump site. These inmates were selected after a thorough background into their criminal history, current criminal charges and behavior while in-custody was conducted. This same classification of inmate routinely work at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, The Fairgrounds and most recently, the pet portion of Meals on Wheels.
