Summary:
On September 19, 2008 at about 10:13am, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy David Hawley was dispatched to a driving complaint on Highway 229 near milepost 30. The complaint involved a vehicle failing to maintain lane and driving into oncoming traffic. Deputy Hawley located the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 20 near Fruitvale Road and observed it strike a guard rail at a high rate of speed. Deputy Hawley conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, 57 year old Elisa A. Huckleberry, of Logsden, Oregon. An investigation revealed that Huckleberry was driving impaired.
Huckleberry was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she provided a .00% blood alcohol content. Deputy David Boys with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office conducted a Drug Recognition Evaluation on Huckleberry. Deputy Boys concluded that Huckleberry was impaired by prescription medication.
Huckleberry was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering and held at the Lincoln County Jail on a $22,500 bail.
