Summary:
On September 9th, 2008 at about 9:47pm, LINCOM broadcasted an announcement for law enforcement to attempt to locate a possible intoxicated driver traveling south on Hwy 101 from the area of Gleneden Beach. Deputy Chris Miller of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle speeding on Hwy 101 in Newport and conducted a traffic stop.
An investigation revealed the driver, David Allan Zacher, 26 of Otis was intoxicated. Deputy Miller arrested Zacher and transported him to the Lincoln County Jail where Zacher submitted to a breath test revealing his blood alcohol concentration to be .17%. Zacher’s vehicle was impounded and he was lodged at the jail for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants where he is being held on $7,500 bail.
