Summary:
On August 24, 2008 at approximately 2:45am, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Strawberry Street in Waldport, Oregon on a report of several subjects fighting. While Deputy Colin Teem checked the area he observed a vehicle traveling east on Highway 34 near Rays Food Place. The vehicle had no headlights on and nearly drove off the south side of the road. Deputy Teem conducted a traffic stop in the area of Broadway and Pine Street.
Deputy Teem contacted the driver and passenger of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Charity Hope Henshaw, 30 years of age of Marcola, Oregon. While Deputy Teem spoke to Henshaw she displayed signs of impairment. Deputy Teem conducted a DUII investigation and subsequently placed Henshaw under arrest for DUII.
Henshaw was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she was offered an opportunity to submit to a breath test, but refused. Henshaw was lodged at the jail for DUII, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering. Henshaw also received citations for Refusal of a Breath Test, Violation of Speed Limit and Failure to Use headlights. Henshaw’s bail was set at $22,500.00.
