Summary:
On July 19, 2008 at about 7:55 pm, Deputy David Hawley with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to a Burglary complaint at Camp West Wind campground in Otis, Oregon. An investigation revealed that two subjects had entered into a cabin and stole several personal items from patrons. A wildlife camera located in the campground was able to capture photographs of the suspects committing the thefts.
On July 20, 2008 at about 11:30 am, the two suspects returned and were detained by staff members. Deputy David Boys with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and took two fifteen year old juveniles into custody. The juveniles were charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, Theft in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. The juveniles are being held at the juvenile detention center in Newport, Oregon.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office would like to thank all of the Camp West Wind staff for assisting us with the apprehension of these juveniles.
