Summary:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the Lincoln County Road Department and Oregon Department of Transportation to install road signs asking citizens to call and report any information regarding the illegal dumping of trash in our forests.
Illegal dumping on our private and public lands is a Class C Misdemeanor under ORS: 164.805, or a Class A Misdemeanor if within a 100 Feet of a waterway. Not only is it a crime, but the illegal dumping of household trash, furniture, appliances and yard debris is an environmental hazard to us, our water ways and wildlife habitat.
We’re asking for community involvement by reporting the illegal dumping occurring within our county by noting the date, time, location and vehicle description of suspicious vehicles hauling trash into our forests.
