Summary:
On May 8, 2008 at approximately 1:07pm, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Barry Bruster responded to a report of an industrial accident at 500 W 7th street in Yachats. Deputy Bruster was the first emergency responder to arrive on scene and initiated CPR. All efforts to revive Jene Fitzgerald age 59 of Silverton, Oregon failed. Fitzgerald was declared dead at the scene. An investigation revealed that Fitzgerald fell off a truck pulling a 700 lb metal "I" beam with him. The "I" beam fell on Fitzgerald resulting in his death.
