Summary:
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has been conducting an on going investigation involving the Theft of Motor Vehicles and Unlawfully Entry into Motor Vehicles; commonly referred to as Car Clouts, from the side street and driveways of residences located around Petterson Park in Waldport and in Tidewater. Currently, there are multiple victims who have reported their vehicles stolen or broken into and items stolen from their vehicles during the last several weeks.
On April 27, 2008 at about 5:05 p.m. Deputy Cummings and Deputy Dorsey arrested Timothy Louis Bachmeier, age 18, from Waldport, for Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Theft II. Mr. Bachmeier was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail and his bail was set at $15,000.00. The investigation is continuing with all of the reported victims.
On April 28, 2008 Mr. Bachmeier was charged with nine more counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, three felony counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, five counts of Theft II and two counts of Criminal Mischief II. Mr. Bachmeier's total bail is now set at $145,000.
The Sheriff's Office would like anyone who has been a victim of a Theft from the motor vehicle or has had someone Unlawfully Enter their motor vehicle in the Waldport or Tidewater area prior to April 27, 2008 and who has not yet contacted the police, to please contact either Deputy Cummings or Deputy Dorsey.
